The NSW Government has committed to 70,000 fee-free traineeships so there has never been a better time to start a traineeship in NSW (https://vet.nsw.gov.au/choosing-vet/fee-free-traineeships?mc_cid=975e5c8c35&mc_eid=956d7f99bc)
Under this fee-free initiative, the NSW Government will pay the student fees for new trainees that commence from 1 January 2020, meaning savings of up to $1,000!
The “top 20” traineeships in the state include many offered by ET Australia’s Training College, including qualifications in early childhood education and care; business administration, business, individual support (ageing and disability) and leadership and management.
Traineeships are a great career pathway. They combine on-the-job training with formal study to give trainees the skills and experience employers are looking for. Traineeships generally take around 1-2 years to complete, and trainees earn a salary while they learn.
For employers, this initiative will help to ensure they have skilled staff for their business to thrive. There are also some great employer incentives for an employer who takes on a trainee, employers may find themselves eligible for Australian Government incentives up to $4000 and payroll tax rebates (https://www.revenue.nsw.gov.au/taxes-duties-levies-royalties/payroll-tax/wages/apprentice-trainee-wages)
To highlight some of the work ET Australia’s Training College is doing in the traineeship space, ET Australia’s Training College recently partnered with Central Coast Group Training (CCGT) to assist with the recruitment of a number of trainees required by a local disability service provider. Successful applicants will participate in a 2-week pre-traineeship program and from there CCGT will hand-select applicants for traineeship employment. The trainees will complete a CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) qualification on the job, earning whilst they are learning!
ET Australia’s Training College is excited to be working in partnership with CCGT to provide fantastic traineeship opportunities for people looking for work in the disability sector.
