BSB30120 Certificate III in Business


The BSB30120 Certificate III in Business will provide you with a set of transferrable skills that will be valued by employers.

Technical skills that come with specific job roles can be learnt on the job, transferrable skills are skills that you can use in every job, no matter the title or the field.

You will develop a working knowledge of office software and business technology along with developing skills in critical thinking, inclusive work practices, communication, workplace health and safety and more.

The knowledge and skills gained from this qualification will provide you with a set of skills that will be valuable for a variety of roles that require technology and business skills. The qualification will provide you with a solid foundation to boost your career.

There are no formal entry requirements however preferred pathways into the qualification include;

  • BSB20120 Certificate II in Workplace Skills or other relevant qualification or vocational experience assisting in a range of support roles without a formal business qualification

Applicants considering this qualification require basic computer skills and sound literacy, language and numeracy skills.

Students will require access to a digital device with internet connection to complete this qualification (access to computers / internet is provided for classroom-based study). In addition, depending on the elective units chosen, it may be necessary to have access to business software apps such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Ideally, students should be employed in a business environment and / or supported by an employer to ensure access to a workplace for the application of learning and for assessment purposes. If access to a business environment isn’t available, one of our Trainers & Assessors will consult with you to identify other possible avenues for the application of learning.


All students who undertake this qualification are provided with advice on employment and training options.

  • Students who successfully complete this qualification could progress their studies to BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business.

Study modes for this qualification include:

Classroom-based learning – A structured training program delivered via classroom-based sessions. Classroom-based learning allows students to participate in group activities, group learning and group discussion.

Employment-based traineeship – An employment-based traineeship allows for delivery on the job with a Trainer and Assessor conducting workplace monitoring and assessment. Duration – 12 months full time (part-time traineeships also available). Eligibility criteria applies.
