BSB30115 Certificate III in Business


The BSB30115 Certificate III in Business will provide you with solid foundation skills and knowledge to boost your career.

You will gain fundamental operational skills to allow you to perform duties across the business.

You will develop a working knowledge of office software and business technology along with developing skills in producing business documents, customer service, teamwork, time management, workplace health and safety and more.

The knowledge and skills gained from this qualification will allow you to work in a variety of office roles including receptionist, general clerk and data entry operator.


The 12 units of competency that comprise the qualification include:

  • 1 core unit plus
  • 11 elective units

There are no formal entry requirements however it is recommended that applicants considering this qualification have completed BSB20115 Certificate II in Business or other relevant qualification/s or have vocational experience assisting in a range of support roles without a formal business qualification.

Students will require access to a computer and the internet to complete this qualification (access to computers / internet is provided for classroom based study). In addition, the following software may be required depending on subjects being undertaken:
• Microsoft Office applications to suit subjects chosen e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Ideally students should be employed in a business environment and / or supported by an employer to ensure access to a workplace for the application of learning and for assessment purposes. If access to a business environment isn’t available, our ET Trainer & Assessor will consult with you to identify other possible avenues for application of learning.

It is recommended that all applicants have sound computer, language, literacy and numeracy skills.

Study Pathways; Students who successfully complete this qualification could progress their studies to BSB40215 Certificate IV in Business or BSB40515 Certificate IV in Business Administration


Study modes for this qualification include:

Classroom based learning – A structured training program delivered via classroom based sessions. Classroom based learning allows students to participate in group activities, group learning and group discussion.

Employment based traineeship – An employment based traineeship allows for delivery on the job with a Trainer and Assessor conducting workplace monitoring and assessment. Duration – 12 months full time (part time traineeships also available). Eligibility criteria applies.
