ET Australia Shines Again For Allcare Nursing & Community Services

Allcare Nursing & Community Services (ANCS) is a care provider supporting people in their own homes on the Central Coast, and has and continues to have, a long standing professional relationship with ET Australia. The relationship between both organisations engages in ongoing education and training programs for ANCS’s auxiliary and support/care staff.

In August this year, Michelle Price, CEO of Allcare Nursing and Community Services, approached ET Australia to collaborate and bring relevant learning outcomes for ANCS’s support/care staff to enhance their existing knowledge and readiness to care for more people in the community with disabilities.

An initial meeting was held to discuss ANCS’s training needs which resulted from recent industry changes and trends. Sixteen of ANCS’s frontline staff were chosen to participate in the training which was for 2 units of competency from CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support being HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medication and CHCCCS009 Facilitate Responsible Behaviour.

The training combined face to face sessions with practical on the job application. The group of 16 were split into 2 for the training to work around staff rosters and commitments outside of work. ET Australia’s Trainers and Assessors incorporated ANCS’s relevant policies and procedures into the training and assessments.

All sixteen staff achieved a Statement of Attainment and the outcome for ANCS was that they had upskilled workers to meet the changing care needs of their clients. Elizabeth Hucker ANCS’s General Manager pointed out “it brought peace of mind for our clients and their families knowing they have staff that are competent and for our staff it provides a great opportunity to further their learning and competencies”.

ANCS staff were excited they could learn while ‘on the job’ and didn’t have to travel far to go to train. Many stated “it is awesome we can be deemed competent with clients that we know as it makes learning real”.

Michelle Price said that “ET Australia is one of the most professional and ethical College RTOs and organisation that I have had the pleasure of working with, and I look forward to future ventures in 2018”. Michelle particularly wanted to thank Tony Mylan, ET Australia CEO and Cath Roden, ET Australia Training College Manager.
