This qualification applies to a range of administrative roles in varied contexts.
Individuals in these positions use some discretion and judgement and may provide technical advice and support to a team.
Potential careers and job roles could include
• Data Entry Operator
• Junior Personal Assistant
• Office Administration Assistant
• Office Administrator
• Word Processing Operator
There are no formal entry requirements however it is recommended that applicants considering this qualification have completed BSB20115 Certificate II in Business or other relevant qualification/s or have vocational experience assisting in a range of support roles without a formal business qualification.
Students will require access to a computer and the internet to complete this qualification (access to computers / internet is provided for classroom based study). In addition, the following software may be required depending on subjects being undertaken:
Microsoft Office applications to suit subjects chosen e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
Ideally students should be employed in a business environment and / or supported by an employer to ensure access to a workplace for the application of learning and for assessment purposes. If access to a business environment isn’t available, our ET Trainer & Assessor will consult with you to identify other possible avenues for application of learning.
It is recommended that all applicants have sound computer / literacy / numeracy skills.
All students who undertake this qualification are provided with advice on employment and training options.
Study Pathways; Students who successfully complete this qualification could progress their studies to BSB40515 Certificate IV in Business Administration.
Study modes for this qualification include: –
Classroom based learning – Allows for a Trainer-led approach where the Trainer and the student meet in a classroom for a specific duration of time in a common location. Classroom based learning allows students to participate in group activities, group learning and group discussions.
Self-paced learning – Self-paced learning allows learners the flexibility to study at times that are suitable. Learners can work through learning material independently knowing that a dedicated Trainer and Assessor is available for support if required. Print based or computer based learning materials are available. This style of study suits students who have good time management skills and who don’t need structured face to face sessions.
Employment Based Traineeship – An employment based traineeship allows for delivery on the job (Central Coast locations only) with a Trainer and Assessor conducting workplace monitoring and assessments visits. Duration – 12 months full time (part time traineeships also available)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) – RPL is suitable for those who already have the skills, knowledge and experience and who can provide current evidence of competence. RPL is available for part of, or a full qualification.
